Jet set: a companion timed to your flight, your train or your weekend plan

The jet set spread covers every booking that runs on a timetable: a Heathrow hotel between flights, the first evening after a long haul, a Eurostar pulling into St Pancras, a train out of London for the day. Same companions, same price list, with the planning built around departures and arrivals instead of a dinner reservation.

Travel suits women who are relaxed about schedules and good company on a journey. Laura, a devotee of slow travel through Italy, and Nancy, who loves a road trip with the right playlist, are natural first names. Laura, Nora and Sonya share a toned, athletic build and an easy energy that holds up on long travel days.

Part one

Airport hotels at Heathrow and Gatwick

Out at Heathrow and Gatwick, bookings begin at the three hour mark with her ride there and back counted inside that time, so the figure you are quoted is the whole figure: £1,050 on the three hour line. Terminal 5's own Sofitel, the long row of hotels on the Bath Road and the Sofitel at Gatwick's North Terminal are all familiar addresses. For a long layover, the ten hour line at £2,400 applies as usual.

Part two

The evening you land

Long flights end at odd hours, and the first evening in London is usually best kept simple. Nora is a lovely choice for it: a glass of champagne, an early dinner near the hotel and nothing more demanding. Tell Bella your landing time and she will set the knock for when you have showered and changed, not for when the wheels touch down. The Elizabeth line carries you from Heathrow into Bond Street without a change, so most W1 hotels are easy to reach.

Part three

Before a dawn departure

The seven o'clock flight has two good answers. Sonya, who works early evenings, suits a calm dinner that wraps up early enough for real rest before the alarm. Alternatively, book the overnight and let breakfast double as a send-off before the car to the airport. Either way, give Bella the departure time first; she plans everything else backwards from it. Hotels on Park Lane are a few minutes from Hyde Park Corner, where the Piccadilly line runs straight out to Heathrow.

Part four

Stations, day trips and trains out of town

A Eurostar arrival at St Pancras, a day at the races by train, lunch in Oxford or a walk along the front at Brighton: a companion can meet you at the station or travel with you from London. For anything beyond Zones 1 and 2, Bella quotes the whole plan as one figure, her time and her fares together, before you agree to anything. Nothing is added afterwards.

Part five

London City and the east

London City Airport sits just outside Zone 2, so a hotel beside the runway or out by ExCeL adds a taxi fare both ways, which Bella builds into one figure before you confirm. Many guests landing there for a single night prefer to ride the Elizabeth line west to a W1 hotel instead, where travel is already included and the evening can begin with a walk to dinner. Either plan works; the choice depends on how early your next flight leaves.

Part six

On the move, discreetly

A companion on a travel booking behaves like any well-travelled friend: she packs light, keeps to the timetable and handles check-in queues and platform changes with patience. She will not photograph the trip or share where you are. Train times, seat numbers and meeting points are settled with Bella in the chat beforehand, so nothing is left to the last minute, and every length with its figure is listed on the rates page.

Part seven

Longer trips

A weekend in the country or a few days further afield is quoted individually, since the plan decides the figure. The double issue explains how longer bookings work. Companions who travel like to know the outline a few days ahead, and the more notice you give, the wider the choice of names. When the dates are set, one message through the booking page starts the plan.

Because the journey out and back takes a real share of the time. Counting it inside a three hour booking keeps the quote simple: one figure, no mileage, no surprises.

Arrivals halls are crowded and flights run late, so your hotel is usually the better meeting point. For a train, meeting at the station works well; mention the exit and she will be there.

Message Bella as soon as you know. A delay simply becomes a new start time, and rescheduling is free as long as three hours or more remain before the start.

Paddington is about fifteen minutes from the airport on the Heathrow Express. The Elizabeth line now serves Bond Street directly, though, so a Mayfair hotel is nearly as convenient and keeps dinner within walking distance.

Often, yes. Book the arrival evening and the departure night together and Bella will hold both dates for her, confirming each one in writing with its own figure from the price list.

Describe the evening in one line.

A long supper, a gallery opening, a slow night upstairs: give Bella the outline and she will suggest the companion who fits it best.
